AVRM has arranged a special rate with the hotel for conference attendees so please state that you are with the AVRM Conference. Rate is $89.00 per night plus taxes( about $14.25)- be sure to bring your tax exempt certificate from your organization if you qualify. Space is limited, so make reservations as soon as possible. The deadline for the special reservation rate is September 12th

 

Check in time: 4 p.m. Check out time: 12:00 noon. Please be sure to check out before coming to the Friday morning session.  The hotel concierge will hold your luggage for you if you wish.  Parking is free.

 Meals Included in Registration: Wednesday Oct 1: Opening Luncheon and Dinner. (Reception)  Thursday Oct 2: Breakfast, Buffet Lunch, Banquet. Friday Oct 3: Breakfast and Closing Brunch.

We are so excited to be hosting the 2nd Annual AVRM National Conference in Binghamton , New York . Binghamton is located just north of the Pennsylvania border, and south of Syracuse along the beautiful Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers. Easily accessible by highway, Interstates 81, 88 and 86 (NY 17) and air, Binghamton Regional Airport and Syracuse Hancock International Airport are in the heart of New York ’s Southern Tier of gorgeous hills and valleys.
 
Post-conference activities will take advantage of the area’s thriving arts scene and proximity to the Finger Lakes Wine Country. Broome County is home to Binghamton University, named by the 2008 Fiske Guide to Colleges as the “Premiere Public Institution in the Northeast.” Some pre-conference activities are planned in the University’s new Downtown Center.

Power in Partnerships

 

 

 

Registration for the 2008 AVRM conference is now open. Please use the conference booklet and registration form below for more information. The Early Bird Discount deadline is September 17, 2008.
The AVRM conference program reflects the interests and professional development goals of volunteer resources managers. The theme of this year’s conference “Power in Partnerships”, which features 30 presenters, reflects the broadest spectrum of practitioners and interests such as all volunteer organizations, corporate social responsibility, student volunteers, credentialing and disaster response, to name few.
The conference will also feature special networking times and special pre- and post conference trainings. For those who wish to stay through Friday evening, there is the Finger Lakes Wine Tour or the Arts Tour to choose from.

AVRM NATIONAL CONFERENCE HOST
 
Serving as the AVRM National Conference Host is beneficial to local volunteer managers associations and non-profit networks. You will find that in the process of planning the conference, opportunities will present themselves to develop new partnerships, increase awareness of volunteerism in your community and building the leadership skills and knowledge of the field in local volunteer resources managers.
 
It also offers to local volunteer resources managers the opportunity to experience a national level conference at an affordable price. As a host you are also encouraged to involve other local or regional volunteer resources manager associations (DOVIAs) or non-profit networks to participate increasing the pool of volunteers to support the conference.
 
To propose your city as a future conference site, please use the form below.  We understand that you may not have all of the information that is requested on the form but tell us as much as you can.  The conference planning committee would like to know more about your city and the potential for holding a conference there.
